| We are delighted to share with all the pinball community the summary of what happened during the TBAP 2023, which we organized the weekend of 28-30 April. The Torneig Barceloní de Pinball, Barcelona Pinball Tournament, is our big tournament, the pinball event that we prepare with so much love and in which #LaNau is transformed to host more than 140 pinballs of all ages.
TBAP 2023 started strong on Friday 28th April with a Frenzy type tournament. These pre-tournaments turn out to be the best way to warm up and for the players in the area to have a first contact with the pinballs set up in #LaNau.
 
This year's Frenzy had a very musical touch as it coincided with the launch party of Stern's latest pinball game, "Foo Fighters". These launches are possible thanks to the fact that we are Stern Army site, as well as the collaboration with COCAMATIC PINBALL.
Friday evening brought together 52 very high-level players who did not stop competing in random games from 19:00 to 21:00. This frenetic pace requires energy, so from 21:00 to 22:00 we stopped for dinner with a varied load of pizzas.
After dinner, the final phase started with the 16 best qualified finishers in Papa MatchPlay format. After midnight, four players played the final. Friday's final is now available on our Twitch channel FINAL LAUNCH PARTY FOO FIGHTERS
Launch Party ranking:1º) Mika Marttinen 2º) Andrés Garbín 3º) Julio Vicario Soriano 4º) Josep Cruells Muntada. A little surprise: The player with the highest score in his first game won a prize. In this case, the trophy went to César Dubon "Pipo" who was recognised as Foo Fighters Grand Champion.
Saturday, 1st day of TBAP 2023
Saturday 29th of April at 8:30 am, the TBAP 2023 started officially and on time. Up to 84 participants from all over Spain and Europe gathered for the pinball event of the year. Also participating was the rookie of the house, Eren, the youngest player with 8 years.
The first games of the qualifying round started at 8:45. The 84 players were divided into six groups of 14 players, sorted by IFPA ranking to decide the match-ups.
At 18:30, the qualifying phase in the Modern and Classic categories came to an end. The 32 best players went through to the final phase. The rest of the players had the option to play a side tournament on Sunday.
From 19:00 to 23:00, the start of the final phase was played with 32 players in Papa Matchplay format, divided into eight groups of four and three machines, both in Modern and Classic. From each group, the two best players went through. In that way, Sunday was reserved for the round of 16 players. 
 
Sunday, 2nd day of TBAP 2023Sunday was the big day, with the finals of the two categories of the tournament: Classic and Modern. There was also a parallel "Knockout 3 Strikes" tournament with the unqualified players from the knockout phase. To round off the day, the final of the charity pinball tournament was also played. The best scores registered on Friday, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon and Sunday were able to enter the final on a pay table, which is detailed below. The culmination of the day came with the awarding of the TBAP 2023 Grand Champion. The player with the most games won in all modalities won a pinball under his arm.  
Charity pinball This TBAP weekend, for the second time, has included a charity pinball. This initiative includes having a table, "Swords of Fury" by Williams on this occasion, for a fee. The proceeds of the games at 1 EUR during the whole weekend are donated to the NGO Aprenem Autisme, an organisation that defends the rights of children with autism. The winner, Julio Vicario, won the charity grand final. The prize, in addition to supporting this cause, included a basket of local Catalan products.  Side TournamentThe Side Tournament on the last day saw 36 players taking part in a "Knockout 3 Strikes". The top 16 qualified for the final phase in Papa MatchPlay format. BAP Grand ChampionThroughout the weekend, all the games in the qualifying rounds added up to the title of TBAP Grand Champion. And every grand champion deserves a grand prize.
On this occasion, César Dubon, better known as Pipo, in addition to winning the Classics category, was the one who scored the most points overall with 32 wins. In that way, he was able to take home a Spanish pinball machine, "Solar Wars" by Segasa. Stern InsiderThroughout the weekend, participants who used their Stern Insider account on the supported pinball pinball tables were able to register their scores. As a curiosity, we also leave you with the top 5 of these tables.
